The candidate of the Alliance for Democracy in the November 26.governorship election in Ondo state has   recently been enjoying endorsements from  different organizations in the state. Among those numerous organizations are the Market women in Akure, the Ondo State capital,  who have thrown their support for the ambition of the Alliance for Democracy (AD) governorship candidate, Chief Olusola Oke,  in order to ensure victory in the November 26 election.

This was just as the Deji of Akure, Oba Ogunlade Aladetoyinbo, lauded the AD candidate for his "high integrity", which he described as an outstanding leadership quality.

Oba Aladetoyinbo, who spoke in his palace while playing host to Oke's campaign train, said the AD candidate's qualities accounted for how the party has spread like wild bushfire in the short time that he joined the party.

The monarch who canvassed violence-free polls, expressed the belief that Akure indigenes were supportive of Oke's ambition because of his behavior, attitude and integrity.

Oke's campaign train, which snaked through the popular Oja Oba Market in the commercial nerve of the capital city, was received amidst applause and ovation by marketmen and women who thronged out in their numbers to receive him.

The Erelu-Iyaloja of Akure and head of Marketwomen, Chief Mrs M. A. Adekanye, who expressed the traders' support for Oke, said their action was hinged on the prosperity of the land and its people.

Adekanye, who led other Iyalojas and marketwomen to pray for the success of the AD in the governorship election, said principal among wishes of the traders was a responsible government that would make life worth living for the citizenry and as well re-ignite activities that would empower the people and awaken commerce in the capital city and other parts of the state.

Oke, who said AD was revived to bail Ondo State out of its present predicament occasioned by bad leadership in the last seven and half years, said votes for AD would bring about transformation of Ondo State and revival and resuscitation of ailing and dead industries in the state with a view to creating employment, wealth and better life for the people.

Oke pledged transformation and special attention to Akure in view of its place as capital city and support for him.

While reacting to the loud ovation that greeted his train in different parts of the state capital, the AD flagbearer said: "The agenda of Akure people is development and transformation. The implication is that they are setting agenda for the incoming AD government.

"I can see dust everywhere. I can see broken promises. I have promised them better deal and I will surpass their expectations. Akure people have confidence in me thus the ovation wherever I go," Oke said.
